As a child, I faced my fair share of challenges. I grappled with adversity, uncertainty and a longing for connection. I knew from a young age that I wanted to pursue a career where I could be the person that I would have really appreciated and needed when I was a child.
I stumbled upon play therapy accidentally after working with children and young people in various other settings, and oh my, it has opened my eyes to so many imaginative, challenging and beautiful little worlds that I have felt so honoured and proud to be witness to.
Creativity, fun and silliness are my favourite things and I am passionate about empowering children and young people to freely express themselves and explore their emotions and challenges in a safe space, judgement free!
I do not view myself as an expert in your child or your family's life and instead become an ally along your child's journey to healing, emotional growth and wellbeing.
I use Child-Centred Play Therapy, alongside the principles of Narrative Therapy. I also strongly work from an understanding of intersectionality, acknowledging the way gender, race, culture, religion, and family and socio-economic background can influence people's lives and their journey for healing.
When I'm not in the play room, I love visiting new cafes, hanging out with my family and my cat, Fergus, and going for walks along the water. I also love eating delicious food and trying new recipes!
