Think of CCPT as tuning into a special radio frequency—play, where kids broadcast their innermost thoughts and feelings. They have their own language and it’s spoken through toys, games and imagination. This approach lets them use what they know best (play!) to show us their world. It's not just fun and games; it’s their way of handing us the keys to their inner thoughts and emotions.
At the heart of CCPT is the amazing bond that forms between your child and their play therapist. Trust, understanding, and acceptance are the key ingredients. When this connection is strong, your child will invite their therapist into their inner world and embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing.
In CCPT, we’re all about letting kids lead the way on their journey. This freedom is super empowering, boosting their confidence, working through trauma, helping them feel in control, and teaching them they’ve got what it takes to tackle big feelings and problems, all on their own (with a bit of playful guidance, of course!).
